Meet Debbie

Hi, I'm Debbie Mearman

I'm the person you'll actually be speaking to.

I'm a Registered Nurse (Learning Disabilities), Sleep Practitioner, CBT Therapist and Neurodevelopmental Specialist, with 24 years' nursing experience behind me. I spent 13 of those years in the NHS, working across respite care, learning disability forensics and CAMHS. Before leaving the NHS and moving into working as a Mental Health Practitioner in a children's home. From there I moved into a Regional Clinical Lead role, where I supported people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live well in their communities. From there I have been working solely in Neurodevelopmental Diagnostic services, where I have worked as an assessor and also held senior leadership roles.

After all of that, I wanted to come back to what matters most to me: working directly with families and children, in a way that actually makes sense — without the barriers that come with working inside a larger organisation. That's why Family Wellbeing Services exists.

I do this work because I want to use everything I've learned to help people improve their quality of life and reach their own goals — not goals someone else has decided for them.

As long as we're achieving in some area of life I feel that our resilience grows and wellbeing improves, which will then improve quality of life — which is my goal!
