If you’re exploring whether you or your child might have ADHD, one of the most common questions I get is simple: “Can you do the assessment?”
The honest answer is no — I don’t carry out formal ADHD diagnostic assessments. But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing I can do to help, often long before or after that formal process.
What I Don’t Do
I want to be upfront: I’m not able to provide a formal ADHD diagnosis. That’s a specific clinical process carried out through the NHS or a private diagnostic service.
What I Do Offer Instead
Before a Diagnosis (or While You’re Waiting)
Waiting lists for ADHD assessments can run into months or years. In that time, I can offer:
- Holistic Assessments — a broader, non-diagnostic look at strengths, challenges and daily life, useful whether or not ADHD traits are ever formally confirmed
- Neurodiversity Profiling — understanding how someone thinks, learns and experiences the world, which can include ADHD-related traits alongside others
- Sleep Support and Behavioural Support — practical, immediate help with the day-to-day challenges that often come with ADHD, regardless of diagnostic status
After a Diagnosis
Once a diagnosis is in place, plenty of families still need help translating “what does this mean for us day to day?” into practical strategies — that’s exactly where ongoing sleep support, behavioural support or profiling-informed strategies come in.
Why This Matters
A diagnosis can open doors — for school support plans, for understanding, sometimes for medication routes — but it isn’t the only thing that helps. Practical, everyday support matters at every stage of the journey, not just after a letter arrives confirming a diagnosis.
If You’re Not Sure Where to Start
If you’re wondering whether ADHD might be part of what’s going on for you or your child, and you’re not sure whether to wait for a formal assessment or get support in the meantime, that’s exactly what a discovery call is for.
